Hello carnivore hopefuls!

My name is Andrew and I’ve been on a animal based foods diet for one year now and I’m continuing to learn and tweak my diet towards what’s optimal.

I’m 27 and weigh around 160lbs. When I was 16 I weighed over 300lbs. I intuitively knew that my lifestyle was to blame, and I had to come over all my behaviors and change for the better. Which I certainly did, but not with carnivore at first. It didn’t take much for me to lose my weight other than diet and exercise. After a couple years I had lost over 150lbs. I felt good at first and accomplished. But I could still feel that I could improve my health.

Over the years I had actually been suffering from malformity in my spine from being so overweight and so inactive. At 19 it came to a head and I was forced to seek help. After finding an amazing chiropractor, he diagnosed me with an inverted spine and told me it was the worst case he’d ever seen. Luckily for me no irreversible damage was done, and he encouraged me that I could heal, it would just take a lot of work. I was already on a path to being healthier, but then I seen it was more serious than I first understood. So, since then I’ve been on a journey to heal and be as healthy as possible.

This journey has lead me to be an avid reader and personal experimenter. I’ve tried various diets including a paleo diet, and a more strict keto/paleo diet. After realizing I had a lot of knowledge about nutrition I decided to switch my college major from Psychology to Nutrition. Yoga was a natural fit for me so I stuck with that. I’ve practiced for many years and became a certified instructor. Although my diet was good and I had overcome many physical ailments I seen there was still room for improvement. My chiropractor always urged me to build muscle. I tried and tried, and I built some but it was always slow and painful.

I had heard of the carnivore diet here and there, and read many accounts of primitive peoples eating only meat because it was all they had available. All my knowledge always told me it was a way you could live and be healthy, but it took this resurgence in people actually doing it for me to decide to try it. Mostly from all the benefits people reported and how they seemed to heal issues I was still having. After one month of being on the diet and still getting through the transition issues I knew it was the diet I wanted to stick to long term. I haven’t stuck to it 100% but the benefits of the diet are still very apparent. When I seen an opportunity to coach others and help them on their journey through a diet that I believe truly heals, I knew I wanted to add that to my life.

I’ll do my best to listen to your story and understand where you’re coming from and what your goals are. We’re all individuals with different genetic predispositions and life experiences. I have 3 years of college, no degree. I’m a certified yoga instructor and have volunteered as a teacher for people struggling with drug addictions. I’m currently working as a health and wellness coach for Kroger, and am now a certified carnivore coach.

I’m hoping to use this experience to help people live healthier and happier lives!
