Noelle lost weight and improved fitness on fasting, carnivore lifestyle

Team,

The day after my birthday (april 7th) I was in 303 lbs and pretty achy & sore. I decided that day to go strict carnivore. After a few days & immediate loss of 8lbs I noticed I’d loss my carb addiction & I wasn’t hungry much anymore. I work 5am-130pm shifts & could work the whole day without needing lunch. I started fasting then and have been averaging 20 to 24hr fasts. 2 days out of the 31 I’ve been fasting I was fairly hungry and ate 2 meals that day. Otherwise it’s been a breeze, I’m down 40lbs so far & I feel great daily. Been running 2-4 miles every couple days as well fitness videos. I never went into carnivore planning to fast but I stay satiated & no longer feel the urge to eat as often as the 4+ meals a day I used to eat.

Andrius lost weight on a fasting lifestyle

Hi Dr. Shawn,

My name is Andrius, I am a 27 year old male 6 foot 1, from Lithuania. I did a one month fast(no food, just salt water) for 1 month during 2018 August during which I lost roughly 55-65 pounds.

Preface:

I started getting overweight going into my mid twenties and thought nothing of it, until it began to impede my daily life. To counter this I tried working out, but that gave me massive headaches, so I stopped and focused on diet instead. Which led me to try out being Vegan during late Spring of 2018. For two months, I ate organic buckwheat as my main calorie intake, as well as other plant foods. At the end of the two months, instead of losing weight, I actually GAINED 11 pounds from when I started, though it felt kind of good. This experience led me to look for other alternatives – mainly fasting.

Fasting story:

After researching fasting for a month I decided to try Robinson Cole’s “Snake diet” method of fasting = Don’t eat anything, and drink water mixed with baking soda and sea salt when thirsty.

For the first two days it was a battle for willpower to not eat anything, although I did still drink coffee in the office (yes, I was working at that time). However, on the third day the food cravings just stopped and did not come back until I had fasted for two whole weeks. After fasting for two weeks, the weekend came and I celebrated with my friends by eating the largest burgers and pizzas we could order as well as some 40% Vodka. It did not feel bad to eat a lot of food in one sitting, nor did I get any headaches from heavy drinking the next day.

After this ordeal I still had not hit my target weight, although I did lose 30-35 pounds, therefore I decided to continue with the fast the very next day until I would hit my target weight (The same weight I had in my early 20’s). It just so happened that this was achieved with another two weeks of fasting, using the same method.

Starting Weight: 110-115 Kilos (242-252 pounds)

End weight:        85 Kilos (187 pounds)

Total weight lost: 25-30 kilos (55-65 pounds)
Time: 4 weeks

It has been almost two years since then and my current weight is 87 Kilos (191 pounds), without working out. Though, as I keep watching your content, it gives me more motivation to try it out!

Callum lost weight on a carnivore diet

Hi Meatrx.

I just see your post on instagram, here’s my story I guess…?

A piled on loads of weight during Christmas. To be honest, by Christmas I mean November -March. After Christmas I started hitting the gym again. I was getting stronger but the body fat wasn’t coming off.

I found myself weighting 16st 3 (227lbs) at 5ft10.

I’m an electrician, but despite being a trade, the vegan trend had caught up with me. A few guys at work wouldn’t stop sprouting off about how great the vegan diet is, and how I was going to die of a heart attack, get cancer, or die of some other horrendous illness.

Me being the petulant child I am, decided to go the other way. I switched to an all meat diet.

Within a couple of days, I was only eating one meal. So I guess you could call it a 23hour fast?  I just wasn’t hungry for the rest of the day. My output at work went through the roof. I wasn’t experiencing the ups and downs in energy I normally experienced. It felt like the more I did the more energy my body had. It honestly felt like I couldn’t burn out. I stopped falling asleep on the train home, and had plenty of energy for gym after work.

Within two weeks, about 12 days, I had dropped 20lbs exactly. I hadn’t got stronger to be fair, but I hadn’t got weaker either, which is something I expected to happen when i ditched the carbs altogether.

Over the next few weeks, the weight loss slowed. Obviously I wasn’t spending 10 hours on my feet at work, followed by a gym session, as the country had gone into lockdown. I expect I couldn’t keep losing that kind of weight forever anyway.

The strangest thing for me was that for the first time since I can remember, I started dreaming again. Really lucid dreams. Which I guess is probably a good thing.

Eventually I got back to 14st, which was my goal. I decided to start reintroducing normal foods back in. Over time, I stopped dreaming, And i started snoring again, I just felt like I was having a “down day” everyday.

This is when I started researching the carnivore diet. Thanks to you guys, my mind is well and truly blown.

With regards to the weight loss, a few people I knew called bullshit. They said it was impossible to drop 20lbs in two weeks. Obviously I couldn’t go and see them cause the country went into lockdown cause of this Covid-19 outbreak.

I’m Going to start putting weight back on, and then when the gyms re-open, I’m gonna go through the process again. I’ll be honest, I didn’t do much cardio work at all last time, so I think I can do better then 20lbs this time.

I know this isn’t something that you would recommend. I’m going to do it anyway. Maybe seeing it happen will help people believe in this carnivore diet.

I’m really happy to have a chat with you about my progress, send you any videos/pictures when I do it.

Regards

Valerie lost fat on a fasting carnivore lifestyle

Hi there! Got some fasting success  stories for you. I have been on the Carnivore Diet for 6 months now and was previously on and off Keto, which was not successful for me as I am seriously sensitive to carbs. I started doing IF of 20 hours/day while on Keto but then kind of fell off that bandwagon about 4 months before I started Carnivore.

There is a serious amount of weight that I need to get rid of (190 lbs) that all came on due to carbon monoxide poisoning of 3 months and the resulting sequelae, not the least of which was the lack of mitochondria. Many illnesses resulted from that, including 3 combined heart attacks/strokes due to nocturnal hypoxia.

I have pretty much tried every diet known to woman. I have never over-eaten and have followed a more healthy diet for most of my life (and I’m almost 70 now). I have also done several water-only 40 day fasts (in my 20’s). So far as physical activity goes, while I’ve been rather sedentary since 2010 (due to illnesses), I was always very athletic and strong. In short, I never deserved to be THIS fat! Carnivore lifestyle is giving me my life back.

I reestablished an IF of 16-20 hours, alternating, when I started on Carnivore, as well as a 1-2 day Dry Fast whenever my weight loss seemed to stall (about once a month). That is usually enough to kick start the weight loss again. As of today, I am down 74 lbs from January 2019, with 50 of that from the Carnivore Diet.

Currently I am on day 4 of a 5-day Dry Fast, and doing well. Though I still have a long way to go, I feel confident I will be successful at getting ALL of the excess fat off and restoring my health as well.

Onward!

Chris improved arthritis, tendinitis, and lost weight on carnivore diet

Hey Doc, I’ve been following you for a couple of years now after listening to you on Joe Rogan. I broke both legs back in November of 2018. Completely shattered my right heel and have 17 herniated disks. I was a mess. I had arthritis in my left ankle so bad I could barely walk. I’m 5’4 and ballooned up to 198lbs. I was miserable and in constant pain. I also developed tendinitis in my right elbow so bad I couldn’t lift a 10lb dumbbell. I made the decision to go on the carnivore diet Feb 1. I’m down to 174lbs have no tendinitis, my arthritis is gone and my back doesn’t hurt. I have no sugar cravings and am damn near in better shape than before my accident. I just wanted to say thank you for being a voice and showing me how great this diet is.

Mike improved his eczema, cravings, sleep and weight on a carnivore diet

Hey Dr. Baker and MeatRX team,

I started carnivore Jan 12, 2020. So far I am 7lbs down, my biggest thing though is my eczema. I have 3 spots on my body that flair up like clock work since I was about 12 years old, I’m 27 now.
Every cream in the world didn’t touch this shit. It has disappeared in 2/3 spots and the 3rd spot is significantly lessened in severity. My energy levels are freakishly consistent and now that I’m not riding a carb roller coaster my cravings are completely extinct. I love the weight loss but the controlled eczema, energy and craving extinction have been incredible for me. I wish more people would give this diet a shot for just 30 days, that’s all you need to see significant difference.

Shelly improved her brain fog, energy and skin on a carnivore diet

Hello!

I’m a 41 year old mother of 6 and grandma of 1! I’m a part time cafe cook (which is actually very frustrating for me because it’s hard serving crap food), also a trucker/ farm wife) I’ve always been very active working out almost every day with cardio, weights, hiit, yoga, etc.
When it came to food, I never gave meat up completely, but for years I was following the advice eat more veggies, eat lean meat and avoid red meat. So, that’s what I did. About  3 years ago, my sister heard of keto and tried it. I thought she was crazy and my opinion was that it sounded ridiculous and extreme. A year later, my weight kept gradually increasing, so I tried it. At first it was really hard being around sweets. And I forced myself too quickly into fasting and had a rough time with hypoglycemia and brain fog during transition (which also makes me strongly wonder if I was insulin resistant … probably?!). Keto worked for a while but I still followed the “more veggies” advice and continued overeating. I started to get excema on my hands and struggled with low energy. I know that I must have been sensitive to the anti-nutrients in plants.

I started seeing things about carnivore (on pinterest of all places lol!).  I was seriously thinking of starting January 1st this year, but chickened out. I continued to have excema and struggling to “go through the motions” to keep up with my family. May 22… my mind was ready. I said I’d try for 30 days, but within 3 days…I was already convinced! I felt invincible! My energy was endless!! 6 months in and intermittent fasting is easy, no longer get low blood sugar, no more brain fog, and no eczema. But my energy is what keeps me going and my thinking is crystal clear! I have no desire to go back to old ways of eating. Thanks to Dr. Baker and all the others putting out great information about the health benefits of meat and how we’ve been misguided about a lot of nutrition data and advice.

Darren lost fat in improved performance on a carnivore diet

Hey Shawn and company,

Firstly, thank you for inspiring thousands to do their own n=1 journey into meat-based nutritional lifestyles.

I tried the CD for 30 days in 2018 and had phenomenal results in performance and fat loss. I don’t have any auto immune or any other health issues, just simply understood the amazing benefits of meat and that you can be optimal eating only that.

I competed in the Spartan BEAST race  in Thailand (21km, 30+ obstacles) on the carnivore diet in 2018 and came in 9th out of 1000 plus participants — I felt like I had an extra two gears in my endurance.

I signed up for a 100KM trail run here in Thailand on Feb 15, 2020 — and I’ll be on a predominantly 95% meat-based diet. Can’t wait to crush it…

After posting the blog, I had many friends follow suit, who then convinced their parents to try — curing their arthritis and haemorrhoids.

Thanks for this platform to share our successes!

Darren
