Tracy improved her mental health, eczema, asthma, skin and lost weight on a carnivore diet.

Hello!
I’m excited to share my story with you.

My journey to better health and well-being began 4 years ago when my husband, fairly recently diagnosed with T2D, was researching ways to manage his diabetes with diet, rather than medication.  He was on a literal handful of meds that were controlling his BG, but doing nothing for his overall health.  He told me he wanted to start Keto because he couldn’t keep doing what he was doing.  I went along for the ride as the supportive wife.  I was not diabetic, however very possibly pre-diabetic.  I was 230 lbs, depressed and anxious, asthmatic, suffering on an off from some pretty terrible eczema and I was literally dragging myself up the stairs each day.  About 2 weeks into keto I felt better than I had in decades.  I started digging into all of the information I could about it.  I stumbled through keto for 2 years, with my weight going up and down, though my depression had improved greatly and my asthma was mostly resolved.  I was still suffering from eczema and by that time it was fairly serious.  I was back and forth to emergency before being referred to a specialist.  I had been put on prednisone and several steroid creams, none of which resolved it.  Once again I dug into research and stumbled upon Carnivore.  By this time I was prioritizing meat but still eating lots of vegetables.  I decided to eliminate the vegetables and incorporate fasting and what do you know?  My eczema was cleared within 10 days and has not returned.
To date I have lost 90 pounds.  My  mental health is perfect.  My asthma is non-existent.  My skin is clear and glowing.  I no longer struggle with food addiction or out of control hunger.  I’ve started moving my body everyday, which further enhances my mental and physical health.  I have never been this well in my entire life. Meat has healed  me.  My husband continues to manage his T2D without medication. We have been in this together from day 1.  I wouldn’t be where I am without him.  I’ve started sharing my journey on my own social media in an effort to let my friends and family know that there is a better way.

That’s more than a few sentences, but I’m just so grateful for this journey.  I feel like shouting it from the rooftops.  Thank you so much for this opportunity!

Dave lost 115 Lbs, reversed multiple inflammatory conditions, and improved his mental health on a carnivore diet.

My name is Dave, also known as Cursing Carnivore on Instagram.  I came to the carnivore lifestyle January of this year, after being on the weight rollercoaster my entire life. I had always done well with low carb/keto, but I always stalled out after a while, and would always manage to overindulge or have too many cheat meals, or something hugely emotional would happen to me and I would go off the rails again. Last June my mother passed away at 61 years old of kidney failure, and I bottomed out. I went back to my emotional eating habits and gained back a lot of the weight I had lost going keto 2 years before. I decided after listening to Joe Rogans Podcast about his dalliance with carnivore, I would try it. I knew the Petersons had been advocating this for years but I always thought it was crazy, as much as I love the idea of eating steak and bacon every day. I knew this was going to be the time, I wasn’t going to go back to old habits, I wasn’t going to fail again, I’m a married man with 3 sons at home, I needed to do this not only for me, but for them. I didn’t ever want them to feel the way we all felt losing my mom. So I channeled John Wick, a man of unceasing focus and determination, and I have lost more than 115 lbs since then, reversed multiple inflammatory conditions, and improved my mental health vastly. I have attached some photos of me, some were prior to lymphedema surgery 4 years ago.

JL healed her prolapsed pelvic floor, has improved her digestion and lost weight on a carnivore diet.

Thank you for featuring my picture on your Instagram! My success is short since I just started Carnivore “correctly” July 1st 2020. I had done a very dirty version in 2018 which of course did not last that long as I was coming from the Keto Community and still eating artificial sweeteners, lots of dairy and my weight slowly crept back up since my fasting windows shortened significantly.

A little history about me. I was always thin growing up and never had a weight problem until I started “dieting”.. so since 2001 I’ve managed to keep myself in a perpetual cycle of gain/lose/gain/lose. I’ve done the Body-For-Life challenge several times in 2006 and 2008 lol. I finally hit my major milestone of competitions and became an NPC competitor from 2012-2013, was published in 2 fitness magazines then completely crashed after my last competition because I killed my adrenals and became extremely unhealthy in the brain (anxiety & depression). I gained 60 lbs then in 2017 started a new journey of Keto/IF. Was very successful because I could fast forever.. lost 50 lbs in 5 months.. During this time I struggled with severe health problems and my fasting windows just got smaller and smaller and sure enough over time my weight just kept creeping back… in between I did eat a few weeks here & there a very SAD diet. Right after my 40th birthday (April) I threw my back out for a few weeks and I was told by my “lady” dr that I had a prolapsed pelvic floor and that’s contributing to the back pain and I was at risk for surgery if I didn’t do physical therapy. I was shocked and knew that I had to really look at my lifestyle not as a “weight loss” journey, but a major correction of my body journey.

I remembered Shawn Bakers interview with Joe Rogan and how simple he kept it regarding Carnivore. So I decided to just stick to beef, salt, water, fat. Within 3-4 weeks my pelvic floor was completely healed. No pain, no pressure and all the other embarrassing issues surrounding this problem just went away. My skin issues completely cleared and I was noticing that I was not hungry, I rarely thought about food, my sleep was much deeper, my digestive problems subsided significantly and I went from 4-5 times a day to 1-2. I’ve lost about 15 lbs but I think the biggest benefit so far is I’m HIGHLY aware of what is happening with my body. I can listen to it’s queues crystal clear and to me that’s a privilege. Thank you for taking the time to hear my story. I have lots more to tell.

Robert is no longer sore, is now free from anxiety after switching to a carnivore diet, he lost weight too!

I have battled sugar addiction and yoyo weightloss diets as long as I can remember. I first heard of the Carnivor diet on the Joe Rogan podcast with Dr.Shawn Baker I put the information away and neglected to practice it for some time. This year the diet made itself present in my life with another podcast this time by Jordan Peterson and I decided what do I have to lose. I was constantly sore and anxiety from work was leaking into other faucets of my life effecting personal relationships and work performance. I did my research and began a 30 day challenge that is now a 60 day challenge in the first 30 days my anxiety melted away, I am no longer sore and constantly bloated and i have lost 22.5 lbs feeling and looking better now at 30 than when i was 18. This is becoming a life style where the pros easily outweigh the cons.

John gained mental clarity, energy and focus while being able to give up alcohol on a carnivore diet.

First picture was in May – I was a “SAD” diet eater and heavy drinker.  After two 6 week periods of attempts to control and count calories, and then counting calories and periodic fasting (and losing zero weight), I decided to go all-in on Carnivore.  These are pictures I took monthly, from May 17th (day 0) to August 17th 2020.

I’m currently 37 years old, but In my mid 20’s I was extremely fit and did crossfit 5 or 6 days a week, ate a strict paleo diet, and was overall really “heathy”, but my lifestyle and health declined as I got older (injuries and other hobbies came into play, and I started to work out less).   My relatively healthy lifestyle took a nosedive in the summer of 2019 when my wife and I had our baby boy – Fitness took a back seat, and as laziness set in, and my diet turned into eating pizza, chicken tenders, and any other “junk” i could make while dealing with all the things new parents deal with, I also started to get into the craft beer scene, and started drinking IPA’s like they were going out of style – and the mimosa-marathon Sundays just got longer and longer…The excuses are plentiful, but the reality is, it was all my fault, I’d let myself go.  I ate like shit and drank too much, and I knew I had to make a change.  In a period of around 6 months I had gone from a 34″ waist to my recently purchased 38″ jeans barely fitting.  My belts were almost out of holes…not good!

Rewinding a bit:  January 2020, I had this lofty goal of losing weight, stopping drinking, etc.  The normal new years resolution stuff.  I watched the vegan doc “Game Changer”, and thought that a lot of what they showed the viewers was pretty compelling.  It definitely made me consider the extreme vegan route – not for any moral reasons, but just because I wanted to lose weight and turn things around as far as how I felt.  BUT, I compared the food on a vegan diet to how successful I had been losing weight eating a paleo diet, and decided I just really couldn’t see myself giving up food that I knew worked for me in the past.  The one thing that always bothered me with paleo, however, was that I was constantly crapping my brains out.  Salads gave me major stomach issues, and lean meat never made me feel really full.  So even on strict paleo, I was “healthy” looking, I wasn’t fat,  but I never felt that good.  I remember having ridiculous weekly cheat meals where I’d crush two pizzas by myself.  Again, it’s like the diet should work, but it never left me feeling as good as I looked.  So Feb 2020, I started to move in the direction of eating paleo, but I was still drinking beers, having “cheat meals” all weekend, and sometimes during the week.  I couldn’t – at that point – really control my drinking…it had become a habit.  I’d drink because that’s what I did when I got home from work.  I knew I was in trouble.

In March of 2020, I was fortunate enough to stumble on the Joe Rogan / Dr. Shawn Baker interview on youtube…that was the beginning of my “game changer”.

The truth is, over the next several weeks,  I did a deep dive into the topic.  I found the meatRx website, found Ken Berry, found Saladino, started reading studies, started looking into my family history of medical problems, learned what an autoimmune disease really is, and started to learn all the science behind diet, and why it mattered.  Then,  May 17th 2020.  I was drunk off champagne sitting on my deck, taking pictures with my son, and saw how fat I had become.  I was embarrassed, I was depressed, I’d let myself go, it was time to change.  I went strict carnivore on May 18th, 2020.

This carnivore diet, from about the second week forward, has made me feel better, mentally sharper, more focused, and more energetic.  I don’t have cravings for any junk food, I don’t drink anymore – and don’t have any cravings for alcohol.   I work out almost every day – and remain injury free.  It’s hard to put into words exactly how good I feel, all I can say is that I feel bad for people who don’t eat carnivore – they have no idea what they’re missing!  This website, Dr. Baker’s podcasts, and the other info available from this community has opened up the door to learning so much more about health and wellness, that I’m confident now that I can say this diet is without a doubt the 3rd best thing to happen to me in the last 20 years (my beautiful bride and baby boy are  #1 and 2).

I would guess in 90 days I’m down at least 40 pounds, but honestly, weight loss is a great side effect that goes along with just how damn good it feels to be on this diet.  I eat mostly grocery store beef, less than 10% grass fed (I think grain fed just tastes better…!).   I add in organ meat on occasion, but find desiccated organ capsules from Amazon are more palatable for me.  I get the “carnivore crack” from a local grocery store, I make my own “carnivore” mayo, I eat some cheese, I drink coffee with heavy cream, and I eat the thunder out of some red meat – and the fattier the cuts the better.  I feel satiated all the time, I feel “good” all the time, I don’t get headaches, I don’t get sick, I don’t get tired.  I sleep like a baby, I wake up ready to kick-ass, and I honestly feel like I’m reverse aging.

I’m a  huge advocate of this diet, in my social circle.  I’ve started to educate my friends and family about the benefits of Carnivore / Keto, I’ve shared information with my mom and sister who both are suffering from autoimmune diseases (hoping they’ll see the light), and I’m happy to be a part of the “Carnivore” family here on meatRX.  The stories on the site definitely played a part in me trying this, and I’m happy to now share my success story as well.

I highly recommend this diet to anyone who needs to make a big change in their life – It might be the 3rd best thing to happen to you too.  3 months has totally changed my outlook on the next 20 years of my life. If you stick with the program, I promise after 90 days you won’t be disappointed.

Thanks Dr. Baker – and team – for what you’re doing.  Please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions or want more info.

My only regret is I didn’t get pre-carnivore blood tests, I’m sure you all could have used that (oops!)

Regards,

J

Greg reduced his Coronary Artery Calcium Score by 40%, improved his lab work and lost weight on a carnivore diet.

Dear Shawn

• I think I have been able to halt and reverse my heart disease on the carnivore diet.

• I had a heart attack followed by angioplasty and stenting in 2016. • After unsuccessful attempts to lose weight I commenced a low carbohydrate, high fat (LCHF) diet in early 2018, and transitioned to a Keto-carnivore diet by 2019.

• I have successfully maintained this diet for 2 years.Over that time:

• I have reduced my Coronary Artery Calcium Score by 40% from 132 to 77.

• I have lost approximately 15 kilograms. My blood tests show:

• HDL has increased by 73%

 • Triglyceride levels have decreased by 50%

 • LDL/HDL ratio has decreased by 24%

• Inflammation is way down, with hs-CRP at 0.3 mg/L

I was hoping to at least slow the progression of my heart disease but my results have exceeded my greatest expectations. I am trying to find people in the field that would be interested in how I did this, to research it, and share what seems to me to be a cure for heart disease. If you would like more information or know of someone in the field that would like to investigate what I seem to have done please contact me. My progress, dietary changes, pathology and CACS have been overseen by and can be verified by my physician and cardiologist, and my pathology results and CACS are available for examination.

Sara has experienced relief from Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and anxiety, her hair is growing in thicker, her skin is clearer and she has lost weight on a carnivore diet.

I wanted to leave this here for anyone who is interested in hearing my story. If I can help just one person feel the pain relief I have then its worth sharing.

About a year and a half ago I was injured from a incorrect IV poke that led to a IV infultration in my left arm. Within a month later I was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. About a month after that it quickly spread down my left leg then eventually to my entire body. Even though I consider myself pretty unlucky for developing this horrible disease I’m truly blessed to have been properly diagnosed so quickly. I went through tons of doctors, all offering different treatments or just simply saying they didn’t know how to help me. Most of the options pushed my way were the typical pain medications which I was always apprehensive to start using due to a family history of addiction. I eventually was prescribed gabapentin while slightly giving me pain relief… this quickly gave me memory loss and suicidal thoughts- a horrible side effect of the drug. I realized what was happening and took myself off it right away. I then switched to amitriptyline. This helped me a decent amount for a few months to at least keep my pain flairs under control and not as severe. Unfortunately I had fast weight gain even though I had been eating a ketogenic diet for over 2 years at that point and eventually it stopped working as well but I continued taking it. During this time I went to a doctor in NJ who specialized in CRPS and under his care had a series of Stella Ganglian Nerve Blocks. This gave me pretty decent relief for about 3 months. In December I got pregnant and I came off the amitriptyline because the risks didn’t outweigh the benefits I was receiving. I was miserable with pain flairs during the 12 short weeks I was pregnant – unfortunately I miscarried and it sent my body into a horrible, long flair.

I struggled for a few months on nothing but high potency CBD which has actually been one of the best non addictive pain relief remedies I have ever come across – however its short lived relief of only a few hours and was very expensive to buy made it not a great option for me long term all the time. I was desperate for pain relief so I made an appointment to schedule more nerve blocks with my Dr in NJ (I live halfway across the country btw thanks to being a military spouse). Unfortunately before I could get on a flight out there, COVID-19 happened and I was left with canceling my appointment, restricted from travel, and my procedure deemed non-essential. At this point I was extremely desperate.

Two years earlier I had dabbled a little in the Carnivore Diet due to my long time practice of Keto in our house and my love of nutritional science. I tried it for about a month and then went back to Keto because I liked my freedom of eating a variety of things and it managed my endometriosis just fine even though I felt really great during that month. Well about 6 months ago I decided to give the diet another look. I already knew some foods triggered pain flairs for my CRPS and I have read hundreds of testimonials of people finding relief, remission, and regression of diseases doctors have deemed a hopeless cause on meatrx. I decided to give it my all because I had nothing else to loose. Well folks im (almost) SIX months in and I am happy to report I feel, for the 1st time in almost 2 years, I have finally gotten my life back! I will not go and say that I’m cured. Because I’m not, I still have CRPS and I always will. But I have gone from having an average NON-FLAIR pain level of 7 every day to having my average pain level being a 0-1. I have been having flairs on average 1x a month with a pain level of about 5 and it usually only lasts a day or two because I was doing something that was really straining my body. CBD oil normally helps me get that in check quickly and continue on my day. Before Carnivore my pain was flairing to a 8-10 weekly. If that benefit wasn’t good enough for me, I feel good enough now I was able to go back to work again and keep a full time job. I’m slowly starting to be able to exercise again, my anxiety has lifted, my skin is clearer, I’m losing weight, my hair is growing back thicker, and I’m no longer depressed. As of right now. I don’t see myself going back to eating Keto and certainly not a Standard American Diet. I feel too good to change what I’m doing. My CRPS is going to be apart of me for better or for worse so I want to keep doing what I can to make every day just a little bit better.

God bless!!

I pray that my story helps someone out there looking for alternative pain relief.

Deidre’s psoriasis has cleared up, her hair is growing in thicker and she has lost weight on a carnivore diet.

Hi Shawn,

I’ve been 90% carnivore since June 24, 2020.  This journey has been amazing. I’ve lost 12 pounds, but more than that, my body has begun to recomposition itself.  The scale isn’t moving, but clothes that used to be snug are now hanging on me.

I used to wake up sore and crackley every morning. I thought it was my age (48) and my mattress.  It was my diet.  WOW. I feel better than I have in years.  All of my psoriasis is gone.  My eyebrows and hair have thickened up.   This has been an absolute miracle.

I’m so glad I started following you and made the commitment to be a full-on carnivore.

The pic is from June 7th of this year (before I started carnivore) compared to today, Aug 5.

John improved is hypothyroidism and inflammation, eliminated his psoriasis and lost 30 lbs on a carnivore diet.

It’s 18 months to the day that I’ve been doing the Carnivore diet and I’ve never felt better!  Here are before and after pics which you can clearly see a difference!  I’ve lost about 30 pounds between these pictures.

More than that though, I have had many other health benefits!  For about 12 years I have taken two sets of thyroid medicine for hypothyroidism.  I have eliminated one of those pills and decreased the other by over 50% since being Carnivore!  That baffles my Vegan Endocrinologist haha!  I also used to get 2-3 dry spots a year on my body called psoriasis rosea which  is a lesser form of eczema.  I have not had a single dry spot on my skin the last 18 months!  I also used to have these dry little bumps on the back of my triceps from dry skin and no matter how much lotion i used they would always be there.  I haven’t had those either in 18 months!  I used to take 400-800 mg of ibuprofen nearly daily due to back and neck pain and join pain in my knees or elbows from my workouts and two knee surgeries.  I now take no pain meds at all and never feel any of those pains since being on Carnivore!  Inflammation is down as well and i only get inflammation when i cheat and eat any sweets.

This has been the best for me in so many ways!  Also I have had 4 full blood panel physicals and nothing abnormal.  My total cholesterol ratio is actually better than pre-carnivore!  I take no supplements and people are surprised when they ask me what other supplements or vitamins I take when I say I taken nothing!  The only reason you need a supplement is because you are deficient somewhere.  No deficiency when eating meat!!

Thanks Dr Baker you are an inspiration and your book is amazing!
