John improved is hypothyroidism and inflammation, eliminated his psoriasis and lost 30 lbs on a carnivore diet.

It’s 18 months to the day that I’ve been doing the Carnivore diet and I’ve never felt better!  Here are before and after pics which you can clearly see a difference!  I’ve lost about 30 pounds between these pictures. 

More than that though, I have had many other health benefits!  For about 12 years I have taken two sets of thyroid medicine for hypothyroidism.  I have eliminated one of those pills and decreased the other by over 50% since being Carnivore!  That baffles my Vegan Endocrinologist haha!  I also used to get 2-3 dry spots a year on my body called psoriasis rosea which  is a lesser form of eczema.  I have not had a single dry spot on my skin the last 18 months!  I also used to have these dry little bumps on the back of my triceps from dry skin and no matter how much lotion i used they would always be there.  I haven’t had those either in 18 months!  I used to take 400-800 mg of ibuprofen nearly daily due to back and neck pain and join pain in my knees or elbows from my workouts and two knee surgeries.  I now take no pain meds at all and never feel any of those pains since being on Carnivore!  Inflammation is down as well and i only get inflammation when i cheat and eat any sweets.  

This has been the best for me in so many ways!  Also I have had 4 full blood panel physicals and nothing abnormal.  My total cholesterol ratio is actually better than pre-carnivore!  I take no supplements and people are surprised when they ask me what other supplements or vitamins I take when I say I taken nothing!  The only reason you need a supplement is because you are deficient somewhere.  No deficiency when eating meat!!

Isaac lost weight and improved his health on a carnivore diet

Twenty eighteen , I was at the time struggling with obesity and heart issues went from pesco-vegetarian to Vegetarian to vegan. I struggled even went nutritional assistance and yet I kept gaining weight. I did IMF, Calorie Deficits, and so much but the results never came in. Thyroid Issues started to develop and gut issues so I left the vegan diet and converted to Keto. I have been almost fully two years strong on keto/ Carnivore and the results have even great. I am still growing and learning new things about nutrition. #MeatHeals  – Isaac

Rebekah improved her autoimmune issues, gained muscle, improved sleep and has better energy on a carnivore diet

Hello!
 
I wanted to share my success story thus far. My life has changed and improved drastically- and I wasn’t sure I was going to be alive less than a year ago. 
 

My name is Rebekah. I’ve always had a passion for health, nature, Fitness, and holistic nutrition / medicine. 

I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in 6th grade. In seventh grade, I ran into chronic pain. I was rushed to the emergency room with severe chest pains, and left with a diagnosis of costochondritis and degenerative disc. I was then diagnosed with OCD, anxiety, depression, insomnia, Narcolepsy, and a myriad of digestive issues such as gastroparesis, IBS, IBD, slow transit colon, Celiac and diverticulitis. I started regular Chiropractic treatments to address scoliosis and chronic pain. I went through multiple rounds of physical therapy, but symptoms continued to worsen. Shortly after graduating high school, I ran into chronic adrenal fatigue, crippling anxiety and pain so bad that I was bed bound. I had difficulty breathing, with frequent episodes of near- suffocation.

 

Desperate and afraid, I knew that I needed to dig deeper. I ventured to uncover the root of my issues, working with multiple functional medicine doctors, and embarked on a more strict/ personalized version of the ketogenic diet. I was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease, colitis, Addisons, Hashimotos hypothyroid, CREST scleroderma, and a central nervous system disorder called Central Sensitization Syndrome (see youtube video by Dr. Sletten of Mayo Clinic). With Keto, various supplements, and support I was able to get off of Adderal, Clonazepam, and Ambien after being dependent on them for 13 years. I gained energy and focus, and reversed Hashimotos! My cystic acne also cleared completely. I was only just beginning to break free from the cage that I became burrowed into after years of quick “fixes” and excessive rounds of antibiotics ordered by traditional med doctors. I have continued to strip off the band-aids to uncover the sources and contributors to systemic disease that almost took my life, and more importantly my hope and joy.

After losing a severe amount of weight, I was diagnosed with chronic chlostridium difficule (C-Diff). I am resistant to all of the antibiotics, and have now had 3 fecal transplants. I was told that I should consider removing my colon, and that I needed a feeding tube. I refused and instead decided to commit to the one thing that I avoided trying for so long… Nothing brought relief or nourishment back into my body until I started the carnivore way of eating.

 

I have gained back 30 healthy pounds of mostly muscle, and have overcome almost all of my autoimmune issues. I have broken up deep layers of scar tissue that was taking over my body and limiting mobility; now there is new, strong, healthy muscle. My mood has never been more stable, and I am mentally resilient. No more swollen ankles or strange skin rashes/ hives. My energy is steady and dependable, and I’m sleeping the best I have in my entire life. I have gained so much freedom in this journey thus far and I am passionate and thrilled to help others overcome their battles, and reach their goals -beyond expectation!

Kristen improved her inflammation, hashimotos, and depression on a carnivore diet

Would love to be included as one of the CARNIVORE SUCCESS stories. From SAD syndrome, I transitioned to low carb and eventually keto for years..I just never could maintain my progress. I never saw the body composition changes I wanted, despite lots of heavy lifting. Autoimmune issues (hashimotos), chronic inflammation, lipedema, depression, aches/pains are just some of the things I’ve been able to overcome or effectively manage going full carnivore. 7 months in and never looking back. And I’m FINALLY seeing progress in the gym!!! 💪

Nichole improved her energy and lost weight on a carnivore diet

This diet saving me is an understatement. I am blown away about how unhealthy I was. I didn’t have energy and I was following the gluten free diet, taking thyroid medication, vitamins and exercising. Yet knew something was still so wrong. My joints still ached, unable to think as clearly, or lose weight. When I saw a friend’s transformation I knew I had nothing to lose as I was doing all I was supposed too. The picture on the left is July 2018. The picture on the right November 28th 2019. The misconceptions I’ve heard about “these carnivore people may look healthy on the outside.” You’re kidding me! Planning to stay stricter on it and see if I can get off my thyroid medication as some have.

Olivia improved her hair, mood/mental health, reproductive health, skin, thyroid, and weight loss, and treated her Hashimoto’s and PCOS on a carnivore diet

I started following Shawn Baker around November of 2018 when I started to get serious about weight loss. I’m 29 years old and have been suffering all through my 20s with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis and PCOS. I was on a program of supplements and shakes with 4-5 meals a day consisting of only oven baked chicken and vegetables and although I was losing weight I was also miserable with what I was eating and unable to eat so much. I decided to give carnivore a try and I am so happy I did. 

I went from 250 lbs down to 210 lbs in 3 months. My hair is growing back longer and stronger, my mood is better, my skin is clearer, my inflammation is gone, my energy is up and I feel absolutely amazing. I practice intermittent fasting with 1-2 meals a day consisting of red meat. I’m almost completely off my thyroid medication and I see no need to ever stop this way of eating! Thank you to the whole meat heals community for continuing to inspire and motivate!!

Elainie improved her digestion and thyroid and treated her autoimmune issues and Hashimoto’s on a carnivore diet

I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s over 30 years ago. During that time I had been a macrobiotic vegan, grew up veg and never felt well, energy nor digestive wise. That led to what I perceive as a lifetime of dietary experimentation, WAP, raw primal, raw paleo, raw vegan of every variety, including 80/10/10 which almost landed me in the hospital as my TSH shot up past 650.

 I have been paleo, whole 30, AIP and the whole gamut. After being keto once again for 3 months I decided to take the carnivore plunge 7 months ago. I have not looked back. Just got my blood panel back saying, “You may not actually need ANY more thyroid horomone again. Let’s do a recheck panel in 6 weeks.” 

I am elated, of course I have never felt better in my life, carni diet gave me back my vitality, and I do not suffer digestive issues as I did when ingesting plants. Red meat is my favorite but I also eat fish, game, seafood, organ meats, eggs and some raw dairy. I eat animal food both raw and seared blue. It is a most gratifying way of life, my mental state is calm and I have great clarity of mind. It has in essence transformed my life at 52 years young.

Doug improved his adrenal health, digestion, immune system, mood/mental health, skin, sleep, thyroid, weight gain, and weight loss and treated his back pain, chronic fatigue, joint pain, psoriasis, sciatica, and fatigue on a carnivore diet

Greetings, my name is Doug, I’m 28 years young 6’5, 192lbs and have been practicing a mostly carnivore diet with the exception of social situations for 8 months now. Prior to practicing a carnivorous diet I was plant based, with a focus on detoxification, fasting, raw foods and lots of fruit to reverse chronic issues.

I’ll share my background and why I began a plant based diet.

At age 19 I was living a not so health conscious lifestyle, consuming copious amounts of fast food while actively involved in MMA, competitive paintball (NPPL) and riding quads. It wasn’t long before I deteriorated 2 lumbar disks, developed a bulging disk, fractured and dislocated my L5 vertebrae. It became very difficult for me to deal with the injuries and not being able to participate in the activities I was so passionate about. I ended up spiraling downward and consuming even more junk as well as drinking alcohol and using other substances for the first time as a coping mechanism.

Fast forward a year or so and I was a wreck. At this point I had chronic joint and back pain, skin rashes covering a 1/3 of my body, under active thyroid which made it almost impossible to sweat, BP of 85/50, chronic fatigue, chronic constipation and a list of mental and emotional issues to top it off. Oh, and did I forget to mention the Neurospine institute diagnosed me with osteoarthritis?

I sought help from so many doctors and experts and all I ended up with was a dried up bank account. this is when I found, not just any plant based diet, but the MUCUSLESS DIET HEALING SYSTEM… by Arnold Ehret. He proposed that mucus forming foods are the cause of human illness and that man was biologically designed to consume only fruits and tender leafy greens. I jumped right in and began living on fruits and salads. Boy did I lose weight fast… From 200 down to 140 in 6 months. I will say that I felt less inflammation and eating so much from really helped with flushing out pounds of impacted fecal matter from the garbage I was consuming. I felt loads better with the removal of all the junk and still having the nutrient reserves to function. I eventually balanced out with cooked starches and heavier foods where I got back to around 160 pounds. At this point the skin rashes cleared up, I had less inflammation and overall felt much better although I felt very weak and was developing a poor relationship with food as I couldn’t EVER find satiation with my meals of fruit, salads, nuts or starches. This way of eating continued for the next 4 years.

During my plant based journey I became certified as a detox specialist, iridologist and took plant based nutrition courses to learn as much as possible.

After a couple years into a plant based diet I began experiencing bouts of depression that progressively got worse as the years went on. My last bout of depression was crippling and lasted a couple months where I shut myself off from the world and didn’t want to be awake. Some of the other issues that had had been progressively getting worse was my digestion. I would constantly feel bloated and fatigued after meals. Socially I became a recluse and didn’t feel comfortable around people who ate animals foods lol I was also an active member in the Dr. Robert Morse cult that brain wash people into believing we are a frugivore species. This was especially damaging because I felt I was harming my body if I wasn’t eating fruit or tender greens.

In December 2016 I had hit rock bottom and fell into the most challenging bout of depression yet. I slept and binge ate vegan junk food for month. I was now 205 lbs of tub and edema. I left the country in Jan 2017 to pull myself out of it. I wen to Costa Rica and began a 95 day coconut WATER only fast from fresh coconuts. to my surprise this was probably the best I ever felt during my plant based journey. As soon as I reintroduced solid food I began binging again. Within 6 months my digestion tanked and I was worse off, unable to digest any plant foods. At this point I was traveling to different countries around the world and it was a struggle just to go from one hostel to another. I remember waking up with such a horrible feeling in my guts and feeling overwhelming anxiety while in a tropical paradise. I purchased a blood glucose monitor at some point. I would eat a couple mangoes and my blood sugar would shoot up over 250. This gave me a feeling of brain fog and fatigue.

In the beginning of this year (2018) I began making this joke while traveling in Asia, “I want beef” and watching YouTube channels of people who ate only animal foods. Ok so At this point I was miserable and didn’t know what to do. I literally couldn’t digest anything and felt depressed, slept 12-15 hours a day and my joint pain was horrible! I came across Aajonus Vonderplanitz and reads his book. He said that red meat cures depression and is a great food for recovering from frutarianism. I walked down to a market, purchased lamb ate it, digested it well and it was like a like came on.

The feelings of depression and anxiety diminished over night as well as the chronic fatigue. For the next couple weeks I lived on eggs, butter and ribeye steaks. Everyday I was feeling so much better and mentally stable. Those last two weeks in the tropics were incredible. My digestive fire came back very quickly and my strength began sky rocketing. At this point my vegan wife now began eating animal foods and reaping the benefits as well. I felt Like I was reborn. The feeling of satiation after eating is priceless.

After leaving the tropics I flew to Washington and began practicing a strict carnivore diet where I consumed 2-3 pounds of beef a day with some butter. Over the course of 6 months I gained 30 lbs of lean mass while at the very same time felt less joint pain and inflammation then I did on a fruitarian or plant based diet. My complexion was much better as well. After spending 6 months on a carnivore diet I can now digest plant foods once again but choose to avoid them with the exception of social situations.

It’s now been 8 months mostly carnivore and I can honestly say I’m in the best shape of my life without any major health challenges and now strength train on a regular basis without issues. Meat NEVER gets boring and I’m always happy with a pound of beef and some fat on my plate and leave feeling content and happy. I consume more than double the caloric intake from when I was plant based and only got lean and muscular. This way of eating may not be for everyone but it sure does work well for me and has really helped pull me out of a very dark place.

My top fav foods are beef, liver, heart, bone marrow, beef fat, eggs and kefir

Lori improved strength and lost weight on a carnivore diet

I’m a 52 year old female. Mother of two grown sons, and busy with lots of homemaking and volunteer work. I don’t have a radical healing success story. But, it’s still big to me and my life. I had been overweight and miserable for 30 years. Over a year ago I found the keto diet and was able to lose 50 pounds and drastically reduce problems with a thyroid autoimmune condition. I even got off my meds before weight loss stalled. Like, stalled completely. No matter what I did. I was discouraged. 
 
Obesity, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease are rampant in my family. I knew this was my future if I didn’t find a way to finish this journey. 
 
I was finally within a few pounds of a healthy body weight. And yet, the body composition was way off. I still had fat around the middle and felt I needed to be fitter. I’d been reading posts on this page for a while but was hesitant to try. But I really wanted to reach my goal of getting healthy and aging well, medication free. 
 
So I started carnivore. I wondered if this change would help me be able to lose fat and build muscle even at my age. Within days, my belly was shrinking and the bloating was gone. My workouts were easier and I felt stronger. I began to run farther and could do 50 pushups without stopping. I loved the food! I eat meat, eggs, and add cream to my coffee. I occasionally have some cheese or plain Greek yogurt. I eat until I’m full and haven’t counted a macro yet! I eat 2 meals a day, zero hunger. Zero autoimmune symptoms. 
 
So… after only 8 weeks, I’m shocked by the carnivore success. I lost 13.2 pounds. But the real winner is that I decreased my body fat percentage by 2.3%. And I increased skeletal muscle by 4.5%! 
 
I feel wonderful! And my family has been so supportive of this lifestyle change. (Except for one older male family member who stated in his southern accent, “that doesn’t sound very lady-like”, ha!) So I think I’m a carnivore for life. I feel like this is the beginning of freedom, rooted in simplicity. I’ve even had people tell me I’m reverse aging. Meat heals but it also fuels the awesomeness of a radically healthy, energetic life!
