Here is my success story.
I have suffered from chronic head/neck/face/tooth/jaw pain for over ten years. I have never had any respite, not for a second during this time.
I have seen over fifty doctors and specialists and no-one has helped, most of them really didn’t care. This led to severe depression. Also, ever since the age of about 13
I have had eating issues (due to trying to eat a low fat diet) and my weight has gone up and down quite dramatically over the years.
I have been a real believer in the ketogenic diet for a long time, but it didn’t really work for me unless I also counted calories.
Last November I started a strict carnivore diet and my depression disappeared within two weeks. Although I still suffer from the chronic pain, I am able to live with it much more easily and have a much more positive outlook on life.
Within 6 weeks I lost twenty pounds and I dropped 2 dress sizes. Minor digestive issues (bloating etc) disappeared too.
I decided that I would be carnivore for life. I have now lost about thirty pounds, which is a lot as I am only 5 feet and 2 inches tall. Every pound shows!
This month we are eating in a 6 hour window to see if that affects my pain.
The biggest advantage of this diet is that I no longer have to weigh foods or count calories or carbs. I feel free from the obsession with what and how much to eat. This is magical!
My husband started being carnivore on the 1st of January this year. He has now cured his asthma and arrhythmia and is happy to stay on a carnivore diet forever. We live in Italy and our Italian neighbours think that we are freaks for not eating pasta,
however, pork is a religion here and it is easier to be carnivore than vegetarian!
Although I did a PhD in Physics and worked for the UK Ministry of Defence, I have read voraciously about nutrition over the past twenty years. I know that the ‘health’ industry gives outrageously wrong and dangerous advice.
I have just started doing a nutrition course with Stanford. Hopefully that will give more trustworthy information, however, discussions with the course tutor about my chosen way of eating might be ‘interesting’.
The information on the MeatRx site might prove useful!
I hope to convert members of my family to this way of eating, as some of them are suffering with serious weight and health issues.
I’ll be at the Carnivore event in Spain in May. At least we won’t feel like freaks there!

My name is Rebekah. I’ve always had a passion for health, nature, Fitness, and holistic nutrition / medicine.
I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in 6th grade. In seventh grade, I ran into chronic pain. I was rushed to the emergency room with severe chest pains, and left with a diagnosis of costochondritis and degenerative disc. I was then diagnosed with OCD, anxiety, depression, insomnia, Narcolepsy, and a myriad of digestive issues such as gastroparesis, IBS, IBD, slow transit colon, Celiac and diverticulitis. I started regular Chiropractic treatments to address scoliosis and chronic pain. I went through multiple rounds of physical therapy, but symptoms continued to worsen. Shortly after graduating high school, I ran into chronic adrenal fatigue, crippling anxiety and pain so bad that I was bed bound. I had difficulty breathing, with frequent episodes of near- suffocation.
Desperate and afraid, I knew that I needed to dig deeper. I ventured to uncover the root of my issues, working with multiple functional medicine doctors, and embarked on a more strict/ personalized version of the ketogenic diet. I was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease, colitis, Addisons, Hashimotos hypothyroid, CREST scleroderma, and a central nervous system disorder called Central Sensitization Syndrome (see youtube video by Dr. Sletten of Mayo Clinic). With Keto, various supplements, and support I was able to get off of Adderal, Clonazepam, and Ambien after being dependent on them for 13 years. I gained energy and focus, and reversed Hashimotos! My cystic acne also cleared completely. I was only just beginning to break free from the cage that I became burrowed into after years of quick “fixes” and excessive rounds of antibiotics ordered by traditional med doctors. I have continued to strip off the band-aids to uncover the sources and contributors to systemic disease that almost took my life, and more importantly my hope and joy.
After losing a severe amount of weight, I was diagnosed with chronic chlostridium difficule (C-Diff). I am resistant to all of the antibiotics, and have now had 3 fecal transplants. I was told that I should consider removing my colon, and that I needed a feeding tube. I refused and instead decided to commit to the one thing that I avoided trying for so long… Nothing brought relief or nourishment back into my body until I started the carnivore way of eating.
I have gained back 30 healthy pounds of mostly muscle, and have overcome almost all of my autoimmune issues. I have broken up deep layers of scar tissue that was taking over my body and limiting mobility; now there is new, strong, healthy muscle. My mood has never been more stable, and I am mentally resilient. No more swollen ankles or strange skin rashes/ hives. My energy is steady and dependable, and I’m sleeping the best I have in my entire life. I have gained so much freedom in this journey thus far and I am passionate and thrilled to help others overcome their battles, and reach their goals -beyond expectation!

Hello Dr. Baker and the MeatRX team! I wanted to wait until I had a full year of Carnivore under my belt before I did my testimonial. I kind of accidentally discovered this WOE going from 2 months of Keto and just kind of skipping the plants part. Then I started researching if Carnivore is something that can be sustained and ran across Jordan Peterson’s story and that led to researching you. Very happy I did! So for the most part I have been living with all the things that “go to shit” when you hit certain ages. Got issues from being a teen, 20s, 35, 40…etc. (I’ll be 45 in July) All things I was told by friends/doctors/everyone that is just part of life. My worst injury was a bulging disc from a few years back, all my other issues were just listed under “natural wear and tear”. Turns out that NONE OF THAT IS TRUE. My name is Matt, and I have been on a carnivorous diet for 2.5 years now. It fixed my lifelong depression, anxiety, mood disorder, joint pain, fatigue, and I have lost fat and gained muscle and strength.
Waking every morning with no grogginess, ample energy throughout the day, and zero aches, pain or discomfort anywhere in my body is a true blessing. Zero Carb/ Carnivore not only gave me my life back, for the first time in decades, I feel ALIVE!!
With every word I type I am cringing like mad. I never wanted to do anything like this but the last few months have led me to writing this blog. The number of people asking questions or making comments have forced my hand a little. The main aim of this blog is to document what I am doing and hopefully something in here can help someone. I am also not going to sugar coat any of this or write it like a “real” writer. I am just writing it how I would tell you it in the person.
Ever since I turned 18 I have struggled with my weight. I’ve been on a diet or thinking about being on a diet or being told I need to go on a diet since. In the past I have had one major weight loss success, getting down to 97kg in November 2015 but before six months were over I was back above 110kg. The years between then and now have been the most frustrating. There was always a reason why I kept failing and I was just looking for the next excuse to binge or get a pizza ordered.
I had done loads of different diets in the past. Keto, chicken and rice, vegan, Palaeolithic , calorie counting apps, juice diet. I had success with chicken, sweet potato and broccoli for lunch every day in 2015 but every time after that I had tried it, I just couldn’t stick to it. I even ran weight loss competitions at work to try and sort myself out but none of it worked. It got to the point where I was just miserable after every meal, struggling to be a good dad, waking up feeling tired every day and something needed to change.
I was working in Manchester and had recently moved offices to further away from the main train station. This was a 15 minute waddle across town. The first few times I did this I was fine but after a few more times I started getting pain in my feet and ankles. So I started catching the free bus. Sitting with the over 60’s, folk in wheelchairs or the people who were morbidly obese. At 31, I was embarrassed to be on this bus.
I knew I had to do something but didn’t know what, so I spoke to a colleague. He is an ex-Marine, built like a tank and is one of the most intelligent people I know. We talked about Keto and how when I tried it the first time I probably didn’t do it properly, but would be one of the best ways for me to shift the weight. I said that I was sick of the sight of spinach broccoli and mushrooms, and that I am a salad dodger. He then said something that has changed my life.

The Carnivore Diet Experiment
Monday 1st April 2019 – Weight 122kg/ 19 stones 3lbs
After a few hours of research and not really understanding the complex nature of a true carnivore diet, I went into April knowing I had 40 days before going on holiday. It was only to Butlins at Skegness but it was to be my first real break from work since August 2018 and a good length of time away to try and lose some weight. My aim was to lose 24lbs and get to 17 and half stones. I went into it with my eyes shut and just literally ate any meat product I could. I committed to researching the diet a few hours a week and also to stop drinking any booze.
I decided early on to couple the diet with intermittent fasting. I had to get up early to get to work on time so skipping breakfast was easy. The first few days were rough. The food tasted amazing but I soon realised I was reacting to any dairy I was eating. The first week ended and I wondered if it was all worth it. I got weighed and saw that I had lost 9lbs. In a week.
Soon I was doing 10-12 hours of research every week and had cut down to eating one meal per day. I also started doing 36 hour fasts every week and even a 60 hour fast at one point. I just didn’t need to eat as much. Cutting out all sugar, all carbs and all plant food was meaning the meals I were eating were extremely filling. That being filling without the bloating and the “food coma” feeling. I had got to a point where I was basically only eating beef and prawns with occasional meal of chicken and chorizo or pork belly when I started to lose will power.
The 40 day challenge ended and I felt miles better. I was happily walking to and from the office with no pain, training 3 or 4 days a week, with no soreness the next day even though I was working harder than ever. To top it off I had smashed my target and lost 35lbs. I went on holiday and came off the diet but committed to getting right back on it when I got home to see how far it could take me.
The more I read and learnt about the diet, the more that other people told me I was an idiot or would have a heart attack, the more convinced I became that this was the perfect diet for me and something I could stick to longer term. I was still loving the food and loving the results.
In the past when I lost weight, as the weight came down so did the strength. This time I was getting stronger and stronger. I even started to run on the treadmill. For anyone that knows me or played football with me will say, I hate running and I am lazy but I wanted to prove I could do it and run for 5km without stopping.
By the end of August I had been on the diet for 5 months and people were commenting on my appearance all the time. The comments made are what sparked the idea for this blog as I was being asked all the time what I had done. The changes were drastic.
Friday 30th August 2019 – Results Day
The end of the five months Carnivore Diet experiment came at the end of the 3rd week of my new job. It had been a pretty stressful few weeks given the new routine and being out of the house 6am to 6pm every day. While trying to impress the new bosses and hit the ground running I had stopped training at lunch as much but was keeping up with the diet. Id given myself my birthday off but had stayed pretty consistent for the whole five months, give or take a few cheat meals when hitting milestones plus my week off in May.
I had also booked in for a blood test on the advice of a former colleague who was concerned that I was killing myself. Either that or he wanted to be proved right that meat is evil and a plant based diet is optimal. I was due a blood test anyway and found my old results from the previous two years. Both tests were couple with blood pressure checks, and both sets of results showed the start of problems that would either see me on medication before I am 35 or face being a heart attack risk. Pre-hypertension, pre-diabetes, low HDL, high triglycerides. It was pretty grim reading that back now that I was feeling so much better about myself. I had the blood test in June so the results may well be better now but I will retest them in the 2020 when I hit my end target.
Tracking the results each week gets addictive when you are improving week on week, so I knew I had done pretty well and it was the final push to hit the 5 stones mark. I knew that if I saw 90.3kg or lower on the scale then I had done it. I got on, held my breath and saw it flash up. 90.1kg. Get in.

Weight 90.1kg/ 14 Stones 3lbs – Weight lost – 31.9kg/5 stones – 26% lost.
Waist – 20cm lost, Chest – 12cm lost, Stomach – 23cm lost

Jeans – 42 inch waist to 34 inch waist
Unable to walk for 10 mins to 5km in 27 minutes 58 seconds
Bench Press – 75% body weight 8 reps to 101% body weight 8 reps
Blood Pressure – Pre-hypertension to ideal
Blood Sugar – Pre-diabetic to ideal
Cholesterol – Low HDL, High LDL, High Triglycerides to ideal HDL, High LDL, Low Triglycerides

Would love to be included as one of the CARNIVORE SUCCESS stories. From SAD syndrome, I transitioned to low carb and eventually keto for years..I just never could maintain my progress. I never saw the body composition changes I wanted, despite lots of heavy lifting. Autoimmune issues (hashimotos), chronic inflammation, lipedema, depression, aches/pains are just some of the things I’ve been able to overcome or effectively manage going full carnivore. 7 months in and never looking back. And I’m FINALLY seeing progress in the gym!!! 💪
