Dwayne improved asthma, mood and skin a carnivore diet

Dwayne’s Background: From and living in Nova Scotia Canada, growing up competed and coached at a national level in snowboarding, after retiring from that started an agency to represent and market brands to retailers and have been doing that ever since.

How I came to carnivore: Jan 2019 I was on a snowmobile trip in the mountains, got stuck in a large drift in the woods. I was struggling a great deal to get my sled out and actually started having a panic attack because I felt so out of shape that I didn’t know how I was going to get the sled out and get back to shelter that night. It really hit me, I was just about to turn 41 and had let myself get so out of shape it was affecting my ability to enjoy the things I loved. I thought to myself if I felt this way at 41 what was I going to be feeling like at 51, 61…. if this continues. The 12 months leading up to this I had several kidney stone attacks (some had to be surgically removed), chronic acid reflux, asthma attacks (one caused hospitalization), huge eczema patches, energy was very low, and was at my highest ever weight.

It all came to a head that day on the trail, I knew right then and there things needed to change and change fast. I came back from that trip and started diving into YouTube videos to find how I was going to get back in shape. I know lots of ways of getting back in shape as I had done it before, but I was looking for something more than just calories in calories out. I’ve done this in the past, hated what I was eating and spent way too much time on cardio machines. There had to be a better way. Having tried keto for periods before and having good results I knew low carb was going to be my best bet, but I wanted to consume as much info on this as I could. I found channels from Dr. Ken Berry and immediately liked his message. I found new info on fasting and low carb and implemented these right away. I moved from youtube to consuming podcasts. I found Peak Human and your podcast (Carnivorecast).

I have to admit I did think Carnivore was crazy at first, but the more I listened to the information, the more I came to understand us as humans and what I felt was the proper human diet so I dove in. My wife Krissy thought I was nuts, she was happy to go Keto, but it was heavy veg keto.  For the next two months after that she could see all the changes it was having on me, especially in my eczema and mood. I’ve had very bad eczema all my life since birth, and nothing I had done through any medical intervention or previous diet changes had ever had any success, even slightly helping, and here while eating Carnivore it was completely going away! Benefit after benefit kept coming as I continued with this way of eating. She decided it was time to try this and the rest is history as they say.

Benefits Dwayne’s seen from the Carnivore WOE:

– Eczema completely healed

– Asthma gone

– Kidney stones gone

– Mood much more stable and able to handle stress easier

– Skin much more tolerant to the sun, no sun burns

– Eyes turned Blue!

– Lost 70lb, total body recomp

– Chronic acid reflux gone

– Cured food addictions

Carnivore for me looks like:

Two meals a day, 1 lb of meat for lunch and 1-1.5 for dinner.  Mostly prime rib steaks from our local grass fed farm down the road, grilled. 2 cups of homemade bone broth per day with lots and lots of Redmond Real Salt. Homemade liver paté. Some seafood and fish eggs. Eggs and bacon added in for variety but definitely 95% Beef.  Meals are typically at 1pm and 5pm.

Supplements:

– For sleep magnesium Malate and Melatonin

– 3 tsp of Real Salt a day in addition to salting food

– Vitamin D3 much of the year as we live in canada

– Boron currently to free up testosterone

Other Lifestyle Biohacks we both love:

– Sleeping on a grounded bed sheet has increased deep sleep

– Track Sleep with the Oura ring

– Weighted blanket has decreased restlessness

– Sauna 30 min daily followed by cold showers

– Mouth taping at night

– Joovv light 10 min daily

Workout routine :

Lori improved digestion, sugar cravings, and anxiety on a carnivore diet

MY SUCCESS STORY

Hi Dr. Baker & fellow MeatRx members,

I started the Carnivore diet July 2019. I was desperate to find a solution to the GI symptoms that I was having. Chronic constipation, painful gas, bloating, and indigestion were making me feel miserable. My husband started a Carnivore diet several months prior that resolved his eczema and regulated his bowel movements. He encouraged me to give it a try, but I resisted his advice for several weeks. Why? Because I couldn’t wrap my head around not eating veggies! I just kept thinking, “I have been eating healthy and exercising the last 2 years, why do I feel so bad?”

Thank god I eventually came around and decided I had enough! I saw no other option but to eliminate all foods from my diet other than animal products. Within a few days of being on the diet, my bloating and gas were improved. Although my bowel movements became less frequent, I was no longer constipated. No more laxatives and suppositories! I felt so much better.

This diet has given me freedom beyond what I could ever imagine! It’s not only healed my gut, but also improved my mental health and eliminated my sugar cravings and stress eating. Animal based nutrition along with routine exercise has allowed me to wean off my prescription medications for anxiety, depression, and migraines. I’ve taken these meds since I was a teen, and the side effects are horrible (insomnia, decreased libido, weight gain, grogginess). Being off them has changed my life.

Other benefits that I have seen are increased mental clarity, increased energy, improved performance in the gym, decreased body fat, increased strength, and muscle growth. I also have a better relationship with my husband because we support each other as we live this Animal Based Lifestyle.

Thank you, Dr. Baker & MeatRx for allowing me to share my story. I hope it helps someone else who is struggling in the same way.  I am grateful that I gave the Carnivore diet a chance, and that I found the MeatRx community.  This way of life is not widely accepted and not always easy. Your platform provides valuable info, resources, support, and connection with other like-minded Carnivores. I have a place to call home

Best wishes

George improved his body composition and strength on a carnivore diet

Hello Dr. Baker,

I would like to share with you my results on carnivore.
In only 3 months, my body had radically changed, in months 4 and 5, I was shredded and veins were starting to appear where I had never seen them before on any other diet as you can see in photos I have attached. I did not have to monitor calories. I just ate at my hunger what I wanted carnivore food and was training daily with so much strength and increasing power and weights. I have an IG channel where I post my meals: Carnivoreshredz

Note that I used sweeteners frequently for my coffee, tea and zero drinks.

The problem is that one day I decided to have a cheat day. One month later, I was having another 2 cheat days. So I gained a little bit of weight but then would drop it off by pursuing carnivore. Next thing you know, I have sugar cravings all over the place. 7 or 8 months into carnivore, I decided to stop the diet and resume eating carbs and sugar. I became addicted and gained all the weight back. I was having pain in areas I had never before, specially feet and leg joints.

Now I have decided to go back to carnivore WOE and it has been a month on carnivore again. Results are starting to come slowly and most importantly, sugar addiction is dead. I am starting to feel better and would like to stick to this WOE long-term to gain my health, focus, energy and power back.

Let me know if I can share more information with you.

Thank you for being a great Doctor.

Kind Regards,
George

Craig improved sleep, mental clarity, is staying sober on carnivore diet

Hi Dr Baker and team,

Here is my story.

4 months ago I was a 312lbs alcoholic. I was on antidepressants and had sleep apnoea. I was killing myself. I knew that I needed a change. I had tried switching to vegan of all things to lose weight the month prior but I just never felt right on it; I had low energy, figuring out my macros consumed a lot of my time and no matter how I altered the diet, I was always hungry. It was as I was about to give up that I saw the transformations of the Bell brothers and saw you on the Joe Rogan podcast. Even though at first I thought carnivore sounded crazy, I eventually realized it couldnt be crazier than the way I was killing myself with how I was already eating. I decided to jump in head first and commit. I lost 15lbs in the first couple weeks, my energy improved and I finally felt capable of getting back to the gym (something I loved before I wrecked my body and health with food and alcohol). This is when I started seeing enormous changes in my body composition. By the end of the second month I was down more than 40lbs and felt amazing.

Here I am a little over 4 months in, I am down to 235lbs, wearing a smaller pant size than I did when I played college baseball and have completely altered my body. I have drastically increased my lean muscle mass and I feel like a completely different person. I stand today 133 days sober, entirely free of medication, no more sleep apnoea, more mental clarity than I have ever had and living my life to the fullest. Not only did you and the carnivore diet get me in better shape, but you quite literally saved my life. Thank you for all that you do

Forever indebted,

Craig

Hi Dr Baker,

I wanted to take a second to tell you my success story with the carnivore diet. In my early years I was an elite level baseball player, playing division 1 NCAA ball as a right handed pitcher. After my playing career, I yo-yo’d up and down in weight and could never find something that worked. I had tried all the restrictive calorie diets, even going vegan for a while but just couldn’t stick with anything because I was always starving. It wasnt until I started a carnivore diet that I saw real success. The last 3 months I have been eating a red meat heavy carnivore style diet, I gave up alcohol, and i am diligent with my workouts. I have gone from 307lbs to 240lbs and drastically increased my lean muscle mass. Thanks to outside of the box thinking and throwing out the social concept of demonizing red meat, I have never felt healthier and my energy in all aspects of my life shows it. Thank you for being the voice for this important movement.

Sincerely,

Craig

Victoria lost weight and improved her skin and digestion on carnivore diet

Hi,

I just wanted to reach out and thank you for providing this information. I’ve grown up in an Italian family and all my life, social events were focused around food. The last few years I have educated myself on fitness. For the past year I have been strength training 4-5x a week with cardio inbetween, and trying to eat “healthy” – that is, salads, lean chicken, veggie. Even with being more conscious of this, I have struggled to lose stubborn fat around my midsection and thighs. Also, I have had rosascea since I was a teenager and my skin is terrible, always ruddy and dull. My gym coach encouraged me to try the Carnivore diet for the month of January, so I dove in. I’ll admit I still drank coffee and diet soda, but I couldn’t believe how much I changed just a few weeks on this diet. I lost my cravings for sugar/carbs, felt satiated after my meals which prevented the habitual afternoon snacking (plus I never got bloated even after eating steaks), and my skin and body improved greatly. I couldn’t believe how many people commented on how lean I looked in such a short amount of time. I finally dropped below 140 on the scale for the first time in years. Also, my rosascea calmed down! It’s nowhere near as red and patchy as it was, and my skin even looks healthier! I think it’s because I cut out sugar at the beginning of February I went off Carnivore for the Superbowl weekend and instantly felt like garbage. I was drinking, eating carbs and processed foods, and I realized: this feeling isn’t worth it. I even noticed how snap peas cause my throat/tongue to tingle, so I’m more aware of how my body react to vegetables which I assumed my whole life were to be consumed in abundance. Now I have completed another week of carnivore and feeling amazing! It’s a no-brainer to me to prioritize fat and protein in my diet now! And ultimately I’m just excited to see how carrying on this way continues to improve my rosascea and helps me to reach my goal weight. The journey has just begun!

Kind regards,
Victoria

Jennifer improved her cravings, digestion and mood on a carnivore diet

Hi,

I ate strictly meat and primarily red meat OMAD in January.  Before I was an ultra runner to try to keep my weight down.  Running and eating a ton a supplements and “clean” foods.  No matter how much I ran and ate clean my weight eventually increased.  I am a tough girl and dragged this 200+ body over more trail miles than I care to admit.  My longest race was a 50 miler.  So, I stopped running and started lifting weights and eating strict Carnivore.  First thing to go was stomach bloating.  I have been on strict Carnivore now for just over 3 months and I am not going back to vegetarian, vegan or raw vegan (did that for 20+ years).  I definitely experience the zero carn zen now.  Before, my emotional rollercoaster of a personality ran me ragged.  The changes now are now as fast as when I first ate raw vegan but now they feel sustainable with ZERO cravings and I like calm, strong, grateful me.

Hope this helps 🤗 -Jennifer

Mike C. improved skin, chronic pain, digestion and mood on carnivore diet

Hello Dr. Baker and the MeatRX team!  I wanted to wait until I had a full year of Carnivore under my belt before I did my testimonial.  I kind of accidentally discovered this WOE going from 2 months of Keto and just kind of skipping the plants part.  Then I started researching if Carnivore is something that can be sustained and ran across Jordan Peterson’s story and that led to researching you.  Very happy I did!  So for the most part I have been living with all the things that “go to shit” when you hit certain ages.  Got issues from being a teen, 20s, 35, 40…etc. (I’ll be 45 in July)  All things I was told by friends/doctors/everyone that is just part of life.  My worst injury was a bulging disc from a few years back, all my other issues were just listed under “natural wear and tear”.  Turns out that NONE OF THAT IS TRUE.  At the end of this I will be putting a list of all the awesome things that have happened over the past 12 months.  Before that I wanted to say that this lifestyle is an absolute game changer.  Even for just an average person with average problems like myself.  I had no idea how crappy my body was doing until I started making this list.  I almost feel like a low level superhero. I’m at the midlife crisis stage and I feel better than I can even remember.  Thank you so much!

Mike

John improved his diabetes and cardio vascular health on carnivore diet

Dear Dr. Baker and Team,

I’m writing with excitement and gratitude in sharing my 30-day results from taking on the Carnivore Challenge.

As of December 31, 2019, I was a 60-year-old male, having been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in 1998 (diabetes has run in my family for generations). Over the years, my symptoms escalated to include high blood pressure, metabolic syndrome, neuropathy, and heart arrhythmias. I ended up on six prescription medications, including long-acting and fast-acting insulin. My weight ballooned, I felt exhausted all the time, and I was advised to undergo two cardiac surgeries to correct arrhythmias including ablation surgery—all despite increasing dosages of medications.

I opted for the Carnivore Diet instead.

As of January 31, 2020, I am aging backwards (please see photos below)! My weight has dropped from 237lbs to 213lbs. I am completely off fast-acting insulin (Novalog), which happened the first day of switching to the carnivore diet! I had been on 70 units per day. I have lowered my long-acting insulin (Tresiba) from 26 units a day down to 12 units, and the countdown continues. My blood glucose level is averaging 70-90mg/dL, whereas it had been in the 230-250mg/dL range.

My cardiologist has taken me off Eliquis completely and cut the beta blocker dosage (Metoprolol) by a third. My blood pressure is also normalizing, and I am hopeful that they will be lowering the dosage of Losartan soon. The doctors have reversed their recommendations for heart surgeries based upon an echocardiogram stress test I just took.

I have increased vitality, am exercising for the first time in years, and feel so much better. Best of all, I am no longer addicted to sugar!

Miracles happen and God answers prayers.  I am optimistic that I will be free of diabetes and off medications.

Thank you so much for getting the carnivore message out there and creating the Meatrx community to provide the support needed for people like me. God has given me a new lease on life through all that you and your team do, for which I am forever grateful.

Warmly,

John

Marion improved back pain, digestion, skin and energy on carnivore diet

My partner ( he is 67)  myself ( 63)  began the meat diet last March.  If we hadn’t  did this way of eating we would not have believed it.  I am of indigenous heritage and did believe we should eat as our people did, but somewhere along the line we are convinced this is wrong.  Luckily we didn’t totally buy into it and still ate meat everyday and enjoyed the fat but when we went strictly meat, eggs and dairy the results were unexpected.

We noticed right off the hop how much energy we had (almost ADHD..lol) Sex drive way up.  As continued it was amazing, NO MORE BLOAT OR GAS.(  I had taken up eating one particular salad with brussel sprouts and broccoli and the bloat was unreal ) sugar cravings went away,  sleeping better, no snacking & eating twice a day usually, sometimes once,  different kind of hunger, the rumbling/shakes didn’t happen,  just felt hungry,   skin tags gone, no more hang nails,  hemorrhoids gone ( I had for years), our arthritis went away and backpain decreased significantly, we both have more muscle definition, the muscle is harder/tighter & we are definitely stronger,  (we don’t go to gym, our work over the years & daily living has given us good muscle)  Our eyesight has improved. I apply beef/pork grease on my skin and people have commented on how amazing my skin looks.  They thought I was wearing face makeup and one commented did I have surgery! Incredible. Not only that but my eyebrows are growing back in after going years with only half brows.

My partner is growing just not thicker hair, but brown hair & on places there wasn’t any, the white hair is turning brown on his head and chest.  He was also taking high blood pressure and gout pills after appx. 3 months he discontinued use. ( I did not take any pills) Our attitude was happier ( not so cranky) and his depression decreased and eventually disappeared.  My anxiety disappeared as well.

Overall,  we have found the majority of  people think we are killing ourselves with “ so much fat /meat/butter etc.”

Note: when we have fallen off the wagon we notice the arthritis, hand nails, gas etc. return.   Hence it is motivational for us to continue with the meat.

My brother was doing keto previous to our diet change and we thought wow, that’s a little too much meat and ignored the diet.  Once again goes to show how manipulated we were even though we knew better.

My daughter decided to give it a go and she has had amazing results as well.  She is 43 and when she went to her doctor for check up she stated her test results were “ off the chart” and what was she doing.  When she said the Carnivore diet,  the doctor didn’t say a word!  Interesting eh?

Thank you for all the info you provide. It is much appreciated.

Marion and Roy from Ontario, Canada

We did forget to mention , although we were not hugely overweight and that was not our reason for doing the meat, I lost 20 lbs. and Roy lost 26 lbs.

Hadi improved fitness, sugar cravings, and depression on carnivore diet

Hello,

I was 260lbs, addicted to junk food and sugar and in a really bad place. I initially lost around 28lbs by cutting out most junk and not eating as much as I used to (which was often to the point of being overly full). Being a loose Carnivore (with huge carb cheats every weekend) and then for the last 3 months a strict Carnivore helped me lose the last 40lbs and get in the shape you can see in the after pictures. I’m fitter than I was in high school, lifting heavier weights at a lower bodyweight and no longer a slave to my cravings. The mild to medium depression I had is 100% gone and I literally surprise myself at how optimistic I am about life. I am thriving in every possible measure of health and overall wellness.

Thanks for everything you’re doing for the movement.
