Erin ditched the plants and eliminated her eczema

Erin suffered from endometriosis, celiac disease and hyperglycaemia. She was a carbohydrate addict often only wanting to eat the bread at a restaurant instead of the meal she ordered.

In 2010 she had her son.  He started to suffer from eczema due to food allergies her her breast milk.  Erin was told she could try to eliminate foods like wheat and soy, but that was often too restrictive for people and that she could just feed her son formula.  Erin decided to eliminate the foods and also searched for answers to what she thought were unrelated symptoms in herself like chronic urinary tract infections.

She first found paleo and then the autoimmune protocol.  She had improvements with both, but the symptoms never completely went away.

Erin learned of the carnivore diet and decided to slowly transition onto it.  After four months of ditching the plants everything fell into place.  Her symptoms cleared up.

Emily improved her bursitis and had a healthy pregnancy on a carnivore diet

Emily started to experience pain as a teenager.  She went to several doctors who either didn’t know what was wrong with her or just put her on medications.  She was inflamed and couldn’t keep up with other kids her age.

Emily grew up on a farm eating her vegetables and meat.  As the pain became worse she started to eat junk food which made her feel more tired and led to feelings of depression.

Her dad became interested in the keto diet and suggested that Emily and her now husband give it a try.  Emily’s partner quickly lost weight and felt great but Emily didn’t have the same success.  She lost a bit of weight but her pain did not change.

When Emily became pregnant she started to read more about the carnivore diet.  About half way through her pregnancy she gave it a try and within the first week she was able to start exercising and the pain she had felt most of her life started to improve.  She continued with carnivore and had a successful pregnancy and a healthy baby.

Emily is so happy with her success that she is now a certified MeatRx.com coach who wants to help improve other people with their  health!

Jim lowered his triglycerides and blood pressure on a carnivore diet

Going Carnivore has made an amazing change in my life.

What has changed for me is now I have the kind of energy that I haven’t had for 30 years, I have lost all the inflamation that was in my joints, I have had 6 surgical clean outs and major ACL repair on my knee and now I have no pain in my knee, which hasn’t been the case since 1985.  I also had my hip replaced 18 months ago and since the surgery and going carnivore I went from basically being sedentary to now this summer

  1. I have summited 3 mountains hiking, and
  2. taken up rowing skulls on the reservoir In Calgary
  3. My blood pressure has gone from high 150/90 to 120/70 normal
  4. My triglycerides have gone down by 50%
  5. My HDL has increased and my LDL has decreased
  6. I have lost over 80 lbs from 305 lbs to 225 lbs
  7. I can now do things i would have thought impossible 18 months ago.
  8. I am putting on muscle without really trying

I went for my yearly physical with my family doctor who I have been seeing for 32 years, he always said that I was too fat and needed to lose weight fatboy (my interpretation).  I had not seen him for a year because of covid.  I went and saw him the lowest weight that I had been in 30 years, he couldn’t believe it was me, but what was really great was my blood pressure had always been high 145/85 or 150/90.  He took my blood pressure and his words were “WooooW!!!!” and he is a man of few words my blood pressure was 120/70.  My Triglycerides have gone down by over 50%, my HDl has increased and my LDL has gone down.

All my blood markers have improved.I am never hungry, i used to eat continuously and was always hungry, now I am never hungry.

I am also a cancer survivor, I had CLL Leukemiaa blood cancer diagnosed in 2011, I was successfully treated in 2013 with a combination of a manmade manufactured antibody and chemo drugs and have been cancer free for 7 years, they cannot find any cancer cells in my blood.

Brian improved his headaches and fatigue on a carnivore diet

Brian was healthy until one day when he wasn’t.  He started to suffer from headaches, trouble sleeping, debilitating fatigue, muscle pain, joint pain, chest pain, heart palpitations and abdominal pain.

He went to several doctors who couldn’t find the problem.

Brian searched the internet for a solution for himself and found the carnivore diet.  He quickly found relief from his symptoms after eliminating plant food and focusing on meat, water and salt.

Brian now finds every meal satisfying and every meal makes him feel good.   His cravings for other food are gone and no longer needs to rely on his will power to make the right food choices for himself.

Kiki is healing from weakness, low thyroid, inflammation on carnivore diet

My name is Kiki.

I have been eating a carnivore diet of 90% beef since March 2018.

I eat 2 meals a day of 1 lb. of beef each meal.

I usually eat my meals at 11am and 6pm.

I eat when hungry.  I always eat to satiety. I do not limit meal size or calories.

I supplement with salt.

I do not test ketones, use a food app, or weigh myself.

I was a 35-year vegetarian and during that time often vegan.

I was very attached to my vegetarian way of life and the belief system that I was eating the ideal health diet while contributing to a better planet and global future having been inspired by many popular vegetarian and vegan books of that time.

I have been involved in Yoga since I was 19 years old, for nearly 40 years now. This dedicated practice as well as decades of Yoga teaching – with more than a dozen study trips to vegetarian South India over a 20-year period – kept me tied to vegetarianism as part of a spiritual belief system and the supposed foundation for luminous health. Simultaneously I embraced a strongly pushed vegetarian propaganda that meat eating and animal farming were causes of global disease and global destruction. These are ideas that most vegetarians accept without question and sacrificing all logic.

I have always been highly physically active – from a competitive runner in high school, professional dancer and actress and an intensely dedicated yoga practitioner – waking at 3am and doing 2-3 hours of intense and advanced yoga asanas for decades while running a yoga school, directing yoga programs and teaching world wide and with a roster of celebrity clients as well as creating yoga programming for individuals and communities with MS, Spinal Cord Injury, disabilities, and vets with PTSD.

From the age of my late 30’s, I began to develop more and more digestive problems (swinging from constipation to loose stools) and kept trying to address this through shifting how I ate a vegetarian diet – from cooked, to raw, to Ayurvedic to macrobiotic to vegan. As well as adding herbs, superfoods, supplements etc. I also developed increasing chemical sensitivities to paint, chemicals, and cologne leading to rashes, flushed skin, and stomach upset.

From being uniquely strong and high energy, I began to develop more and more body pain and stiffness. When I would travel to India – for the first ten years, I would always become more strong and flexible and focussed. But this eventually changed. Rather I would almost instantly have more pain and terrible inflammation. I thought it was due to the intensify of yoga practices, along with so called “over use syndrome” – but now in retrospect I see it was legumes, cereal grains, and toxic plant compounds. I cannot tolerate these at all today.

My health continued to plummet with B12 anaemia that included visual and auditory hallucinations, fainting, intense brain fog, and extreme exhaustion I was also extremely deficient in most B vitamins and vitamin D (and yes, I supplemented with B12 for decades)

For nearly 10 years leading up to my carnivore diet change, I needed to soak in a hot bath everyday to begin to move. I got weekly massages as well as weekly acupuncture and was usually getting an additional kind of therapeutic healing like fascial release sessions, chiropractics, Somatics, barefoot movement and the list goes on. All this to manage 24-hour pain and to just get through my week.

A looming crisis of faith along with my determination to beat these health concerns and a belief that we can heal ourselves (and that I could reverse my situation and thrive) with food choices led me to deeply research Weston A. Price, bone broth, Ketogenics, paleo, zero carb and I found my way to the Low Carb Down Under, Ancestral Health and other presentations where I learned from Dr. Shawn Baker, Dr. Georgia Ede, Sally K. Norton, and so many others whose research I embraced to completely heal. Several Facebook groups like Principia Carnivora, Women’s Carnivore Tribe and Vegan and Vegetarian Recovery offered a great deal of community support. I also listened to every Human Outliers Podcast for a year.

I am so grateful to this Carnivore community and to all those that are participating in research and spreading the word on Carnivore, ultra low carb, zero carb and plant-free lifestyles.

Today I have more vitality than I could have imagined. I feel that I have turned back the clock 20 years (years that were lost to me due to pain and exhaustion). Just a few months ago I registered a Guinness Book of World Records for the Longest Held Downward Dog Pose at 1 hour and 20 seconds. I have taken up kettle bells as well as other athletic and optimal development practices.

My hair and nails are thick and growing. My skin is smooth and my body is lean and toned. I am strong and energetic. I recently moved onto my sailboat and am living a sailing life (this would have been  physically impossible 2 years ago).

All  the health concerns listed below have disappeared except for some remaining tinnitus, occasional insomnia as well as sensitivity with minor rashes and some low back pain when I eat off plan (which includes a few animal foods I cannot tolerate like pork, dairy and eggs).

The List:

20 years of intensifying body aches

24-hour pain

Very cold hands and feet all year around

Cold all the time.

Intense exhaustion

Injuries not healing

Rashes

Chemical sensitivities

Weakness, extreme stiffness

Difficulty in walking – hip inflammation – sciatica like pain

Swollen and seeping ears

Superstitious

Paranoid

Sadness / very emotional

Low thyroid (I took a medication which I no longer need)

Weak nails

Slow growing hair

Some hair receding

Uninspired

Gnawing hunger

An all encompassing fear of losing my community and being judged.

Chris improved his joint pain and thyroid function on a carnivore diet

My Carnivore Journey
I always had a problem with weight since I was a child. When I got older it would yoyo
back and forth reaching a peak of over 260 pounds. When the scale said 260 I stopped
weighing myself, it was too depressing.
During nursing school, I began going to the gym, juicing, and experimenting with
intermittent fasting. The weight slid off. I looked good and felt good. I was eating lots of
kale, spinach, and broccoli.
Around 2015 I began to notice that after exercising it felt like I never recovered. I was
sore all the time. My joints began to ache and I lost my strength. I would sit on the
weight bench dreading my next set.
I thought maybe I was over exercising and began backing off hoping that would help. I
began using less weight and going to the gym less frequently. I gradually went from 4
days a week, to 2 days a week, to one day a week, to none.
During this time my health began to deteriorate. My worst symptom was brain fog. I was
a corrections nurse and at times I had to be on my toes. It became frightening when I
had to respond to a medical emergency and struggled to remember what to do.
My symptoms included joint and muscle pain even though I was no longer exercising.
No strength, no drive, and no libido. I felt cold all the time, my skin was dry, I was
gaining weight, and constipated.
My life became centered around finding the strength to make it through a day at work. I
would drink a pot of coffee in the morning, drink coffee at work, go home and rest, go to
bed, and repeat. I had to drink the coffee for physical and mental energy to function,
and then rest at home hoping to be able to do it again the next day.
I ended up switching jobs to a psych unit which was a bit easier. While I was at that job
a new symptom emerged, I lost my eyebrows. One day I noticed in the mirror that my
hair was looking thin and then realized my eyebrows were almost completely gone. As
time went by I watched them slowly fade away to the point that someone at work asked
me if I shaved my eyebrows. Very embarrassing.
I spoke with some people at work about my health issues and someone suggested
hypothyroidism. When I looked into it many of my symptoms, including the lack of
eyebrows fit. So February 2018 I decided to go to the doctor. He had me get labs and
checked my TSH. It was 2.4085, right in the middle of normal. I didn’t know what else to
do, nor did I have the strength to do anything. I felt like I was waiting to die.
June of 2018 I watched the Joe Rogan podcast with Jordan Peterson where he talked
about his daughter Mikhaila and her health problems. I then watched Joe’s podcast with
her. I was inspired and hopeful that maybe if I gave the carnivore diet 30 days it might
help me. I had a blog that I wasn’t updating anymore and decided to use it to record my
progress and see if it worked.

I weighed myself, took pictures, and did some measurements. I decided to be as strict
as possible so I didn’t accidently sabotage myself. I ate only beef, salt, and water. Over
the 30 days my health greatly improved. The brain fog began to lift, my weight and waist
began to shrink. I felt more energy and my pain began to diminish.
During that 30 days I delved into as much information about the carnivore lifestyle as I
could find. I found Shawn Baker’s podcast with Joe Rogan and the meat heals, now
meatrx website. The meatrx website has been a source of inspiration for me. I devoured
the testimonials. Reading all the success stories gave me hope that if it worked for them
maybe it can work for me.
After the 30 days I felt so healthy I never wanted to stop and take a chance of my health
deteriorating again. Today, a little over 2 years into my journey I have relaxed my diet a
little. I eat bacon, cheese, and egg yolks with beef. I have also included liver and
kidneys (Kidneys are $.50 a pound and I am a cheap bastard). I also use pepper and
tobasco sauce for additional flavor.
The majority of my health issues have resolved, including my eyebrows. They are still a
little thin but they are back! When I would get into my car my knees would hurt, now
they don’t. Even today when I get into my car I am amazed that they don’t hurt. My
constipation is mostly gone, my skin is nails, and hair are much improved. My strength,
energy, and drive have returned.
I believe my health had deteriorated to the point that it is taking some time to come
back. I still have severe seasonal allergies however as I am writing this it is the first fall
that is not so bad, things are still getting better, even after 2 years. So I want to give you
hope like so many have done for me. If you are having health problems try the carnivore
diet for 30 days. If after 30 days you still have some health issues give it time, you might
be like me, and need a few years to rebuild.

John gained mental clarity, energy and focus on a carnivore diet

First picture was in May – I was a “SAD” diet eater and heavy drinker.  After two 6 week periods of attempts to control and count calories, and then counting calories and periodic fasting (and losing zero weight), I decided to go all-in on Carnivore.  These are pictures I took monthly, from May 17th (day 0) to August 17th 2020.

I’m currently 37 years old, but In my mid 20’s I was extremely fit and did crossfit 5 or 6 days a week, ate a strict paleo diet, and was overall really “heathy”, but my lifestyle and health declined as I got older (injuries and other hobbies came into play, and I started to work out less).   My relatively healthy lifestyle took a nosedive in the summer of 2019 when my wife and I had our baby boy – Fitness took a back seat, and as laziness set in, and my diet turned into eating pizza, chicken tenders, and any other “junk” i could make while dealing with all the things new parents deal with, I also started to get into the craft beer scene, and started drinking IPA’s like they were going out of style – and the mimosa-marathon Sundays just got longer and longer…The excuses are plentiful, but the reality is, it was all my fault, I’d let myself go.  I ate like shit and drank too much, and I knew I had to make a change.  In a period of around 6 months I had gone from a 34″ waist to my recently purchased 38″ jeans barely fitting.  My belts were almost out of holes…not good!

Rewinding a bit:  January 2020, I had this lofty goal of losing weight, stopping drinking, etc.  The normal new years resolution stuff.  I watched the vegan doc “Game Changer”, and thought that a lot of what they showed the viewers was pretty compelling.  It definitely made me consider the extreme vegan route – not for any moral reasons, but just because I wanted to lose weight and turn things around as far as how I felt.  BUT, I compared the food on a vegan diet to how successful I had been losing weight eating a paleo diet, and decided I just really couldn’t see myself giving up food that I knew worked for me in the past.  The one thing that always bothered me with paleo, however, was that I was constantly crapping my brains out.  Salads gave me major stomach issues, and lean meat never made me feel really full.  So even on strict paleo, I was “healthy” looking, I wasn’t fat,  but I never felt that good.  I remember having ridiculous weekly cheat meals where I’d crush two pizzas by myself.  Again, it’s like the diet should work, but it never left me feeling as good as I looked.  So Feb 2020, I started to move in the direction of eating paleo, but I was still drinking beers, having “cheat meals” all weekend, and sometimes during the week.  I couldn’t – at that point – really control my drinking…it had become a habit.  I’d drink because that’s what I did when I got home from work.  I knew I was in trouble.

In March of 2020, I was fortunate enough to stumble on the Joe Rogan / Dr. Shawn Baker interview on youtube…that was the beginning of my “game changer”.

The truth is, over the next several weeks,  I did a deep dive into the topic.  I found the meatRx website, found Ken Berry, found Saladino, started reading studies, started looking into my family history of medical problems, learned what an autoimmune disease really is, and started to learn all the science behind diet, and why it mattered.  Then,  May 17th 2020.  I was drunk off champagne sitting on my deck, taking pictures with my son, and saw how fat I had become.  I was embarrassed, I was depressed, I’d let myself go, it was time to change.  I went strict carnivore on May 18th, 2020.

This carnivore diet, from about the second week forward, has made me feel better, mentally sharper, more focused, and more energetic.  I don’t have cravings for any junk food, I don’t drink anymore – and don’t have any cravings for alcohol.   I work out almost every day – and remain injury free.  It’s hard to put into words exactly how good I feel, all I can say is that I feel bad for people who don’t eat carnivore – they have no idea what they’re missing!  This website, Dr. Baker’s podcasts, and the other info available from this community has opened up the door to learning so much more about health and wellness, that I’m confident now that I can say this diet is without a doubt the 3rd best thing to happen to me in the last 20 years (my beautiful bride and baby boy are  #1 and 2).

I would guess in 90 days I’m down at least 40 pounds, but honestly, weight loss is a great side effect that goes along with just how damn good it feels to be on this diet.  I eat mostly grocery store beef, less than 10% grass fed (I think grain fed just tastes better…!).   I add in organ meat on occasion, but find desiccated organ capsules from Amazon are more palatable for me.  I get the “carnivore crack” from a local grocery store, I make my own “carnivore” mayo, I eat some cheese, I drink coffee with heavy cream, and I eat the thunder out of some red meat – and the fattier the cuts the better.  I feel satiated all the time, I feel “good” all the time, I don’t get headaches, I don’t get sick, I don’t get tired.  I sleep like a baby, I wake up ready to kick-ass, and I honestly feel like I’m reverse aging.

I’m a  huge advocate of this diet, in my social circle.  I’ve started to educate my friends and family about the benefits of Carnivore / Keto, I’ve shared information with my mom and sister who both are suffering from autoimmune diseases (hoping they’ll see the light), and I’m happy to be a part of the “Carnivore” family here on meatRX.  The stories on the site definitely played a part in me trying this, and I’m happy to now share my success story as well.

I highly recommend this diet to anyone who needs to make a big change in their life – It might be the 3rd best thing to happen to you too.  3 months has totally changed my outlook on the next 20 years of my life. If you stick with the program, I promise after 90 days you won’t be disappointed.

Thanks Dr. Baker – and team – for what you’re doing.  Please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions or want more info.

My only regret is I didn’t get pre-carnivore blood tests, I’m sure you all could have used that (oops!)

Regards,

J

Nathan improved severe depression, sleep, acid reflux on a carnivore diet

I’ve had severe depression my entire life and tried every treatment imaginable, including Electroconvulsive Therapy(Shock treatments). Nothing worked really, I found my mood was the same on and off the medications, and I had to deal with the horrible side effects of the meds. And Shock treatments just left me with a horrible memory. And I’ll tell you another thing too… It left me with a horrible memory… (lame joke)
Anyways, in 2019 I was hospitalized for suicidal depression because I just couldn’t take it anymore, and I realized I wouldn’t last another year if I didn’t do something. I had been following Jordan Peterson for quite some time, listening to his talks, and stumbled across his interview with Joe Rogan. They were talking about how the Carnivore Diet fixed his depression. He mentioned his daughter Mikhaila and how much it helped her. So I watched Joe’s interview with Mikhaila Peterson, and began following her. Which inevitably led me to Dr Shawn Baker, who I learned so much of the technical, ‘sciencey’ aspect of Carnivore from.

It took about 2 months of strict carnivore before I noticed a drastic difference in my mood. Instead of going through each day thinking about how much I wanted to be dead, or even thinking about how to kill myself, I was catching myself laughing and smiling again FOR NO REASON!!!
It hit me one day… This is what life is like without depression caused by chronic inflammation!
It’s wonderful to see and feel the difference. I’ve been able to devote more time to pursuing my voice acting career. And I’ve lost around 80 lbs, down from 290+.

Thank you Dr. Shawn Baker(@shawnbaker1967), Dr. Ken Berry(@kenberry.md), Professor Peterson(@jordan.b.peterson), Mikhaila Peterson(@mikhailapeterson), you’ve helped a lot of people, including me.

Height: 6’3″
Lifestyle changes: Have been strict carnivore for 8 months, was morbidly obese, but did the diet mainly for depression.
Diet: Beef, Pork, Chicken, Eggs, Salt, Water
Fast: Only eats when hungry(1-2 meals a day). Does not count calories or grams of anything, or stick to any eating schedule.
Exercise: Just walking. Gym soon as they open.
Time on diet: 8 months

Health Problems Resolved:
– Severe Depression has disappeared
– Lost 80lbs
– Skin problems & Dandruff are gone
– Feeling weak and shaky when hungry gone
– Sleeping much better
– Acid Reflux and digestion problems which I was convinced would kill me one day have vanished completely.
